World is ruled by cost-effectiveness

When I was a fresher, I read few chapters from Braunwald (I’m still reading this great book from time to time).

These chapters were about economic effectiveness of treatment cardiovascular diseases. So, it’s more cost-effective to treat myocardial infarction fast and correctly and prescribe pills than to treat its long-term complications such as heart failure. Heart failure is along-lasting, demanding illness (you need to prescribe more medicine) referred hospitalizations.

Now everyone knows, thanks to the COVID-19, that healthy lifestyle helps to prevent different diseases and myocardial infarction is in this list.

To do a checkup regularly, even when you do not have any complaints and to lead healthy lifestyle is economically win-win solution.

We just need to be motivated enough to start…
